"I guess I'd say we're the source for living the life that we've found to be the most fun, all year round". - Source Boards

Many athletes come from the streets of Calgary, was the city planner a snowboarder at one time?

Sometimes it may seem like it. Although Edmonton is equally as guilty and generally tends to have more reliable snow in the city.

Hmm…regardless. Who should we be looking out for now?

As far as up-and-comers go, Carter Jarvis is our #1. However, with the hills so close to the city, there are a ton of good kids out there right now. We're fortunate to have such a strong community and it reflects in the riders you see every day locally.

What’s the styles and trends as a whole in Alberta?

Alberta's always been incredibly authentic when it comes to snowboarding. It's a great market because the overarching trend is that you need to invest in the market and be very true to what you do. If you don't live what you're selling, the public will know.

It seems like a ride vacation could go either way - left, right or down? Do most head to B.C., Toronto area, or down to the U.S.?

Truth is, most just stay here. There's nothing like an Albertan pow day, within a few hours of your house you have access to some of the best snow and terrain you can find anywhere. That said, I would continue going west into interior BC and Whistler can be a really nice time if the conditions are right.

What’s the local mountains?

There's a lot of variety around here. You can ride park at COP in Calgary or Rabbit Hill in Edmonton, then venture off for a true mountain experience in Banff or Jasper, and then Revelstoke and Kicking Horse are your full-serve freeride spots. There's something for everyone.

Do they have downhill Iceskating like Redbull’s now infamous Icebreakers?

*pretends not to hear question*

Ever sold snowboard outerwear to hockey players?

Well, we do live in Canada.

Alright, snowboard outerwear is for snowboarding, I get it, I get it…what’s the hot ticket in the new Sessions line?

I think just the fact that the brand is back with a great group of people behind it is the ticket for this season. Customers seem to be hyped that it's back, and we're right there with them.

Does working with a 4-season brand create advantages for The Source? How about for the customer?

It can go both ways. Brands need to really stick to what they believe in and what they excel at. If that's moving into a four season model, then sure we're all for it.

We couldn’t be more stoked to do business and snowboarding with The Source - but we have to ask! What are you The Source for?

I guess I'd say we're the source for living the life that we've found to be the most fun, all year round.

Ahh, and here we thought it was for women.
